Recommended: 30+ combat, food, Digsite pendant/teleport, many antidote ++ or antipoison potions, armour, ranged/magic attacking methods & a fast attack speed weaponry.
General Information & Starting Out:
Required items: Rope & a weapon.
All fights take place in an instanced area. Any items left on the ground will be lost. On - death all unprotected items will be moved to a grave outside of the instanced area.
During the questline be sure to not click during the cutscenes or you will be teleported out and forced to view it once again.
Make your way through the gate near the Earth Altar just east of Varrock and to the south of the altar, speak with Launa. Getting here quickly can be done by using the - Digsite pendant or teleport and running north-north-west.
Offer your help then use a rope on the rift, descending down. Each of these rooms will have multiple enemies which need to be slain to progress.
Food and antipoison potions are advised and you are able to leave and restock anytime during this questline, but you will have to START OVER from the room you have left. In the event that you must go, logging out will cause progress to be lost and not appear - upon entering the rift.
Rage Weaponry:
This section will reward 40 attack experience.
This room will come with a weapon rack which contains 4 weapons, where one is -- required to slay a specific enemy. The correct weapon will deal damage multiplied by 10.
- Weapon Correlations:
Select a weapon and slay the specific correlating enemy. You will do insane amounts of damage, but will gain no experience in doing so. Each creature that is slain will raise -- your rage level at the top of the screen.
After you have slain several creatures and the bar has reached the maximum status, you will kill all the remaining monsters in the room in one swift slash. A cutscene will play, having Tolna leave his mother for a more luxurious life.
After the cutscene, exit out the room near the end end of the cave to the fear room.
Room of Fear:
This room will represent the fear of Tolna. In this room you will need to search the - outer walls for dark holes. In some of these dark holes you will find fear reapers. To progress you must slay the fear reapers.
There will be some small jump scares when searching the hole. In total you will need to kill 5-6 fear reapers before your character is no longer afraid. When your character has stated there is no more fear you may proceed.
You are not allowed to search the same hole over and over.
There will be another cutscene after the last kill. Once it has ended you may proceed -- into the black hole of the west.
Room of Confusion:
This room contains several confusing doors which will have five confusion beasts, but - only one will be real at a time. These others will be an illusion in which you will deal no damage, but will be granted combat experience. The illusions will vanish upon a player hitting 8-zero's on them. You may keep attacking these beasts until the real one is seen.
Once the real beast has been slain, one of these confusion doors will vanish as well as the rest of the beasts to respawn. To proceed you will need to repeat the process until only one door is remaining.
It is advised to use ranged or magic for this step as these beasts use a ranged based -- attack and their melee attack may poison.
Room of Hopelessness:
Each hopeless creature must be slain three times. In this room you will need to be -- careful of consumption as 75% of the monster's health will be restored. In addition if this enemy is poisoned they will lose the poison effect on their next phase.
When all have been defeated a bridge of hope will appear. Take the bridge across after all have been defeated. Doing this will trigger another cutscene.
Tolna the 3-Headed Beast:
You will need to slay this enemy to revert them back to human.
It is important to note that this room is a multicombat zone and all three heads will attack at once using ranged from a distance. In addition to their ranged attack, the northern head will do rapid melee attacks if a player is close.
These heads are not particularly strong, but will attack rapidly and poison you.
Once the heads have been slain, speak with Tolna whom will take you to the surface.
After you have made it to the surface with Tolna you will now need to speak with Tolna for your rewards.
Congratulations, quest completed!
